FARMINGDALE – Daniel Carl Canfield, 70, passed away at Gosnell Hospice House, Scarborough,
Sept 12, 2021, after a long illness.
He was born in Portland on June 21, 1951, the son of Robert and Helen Canfield.
He lived in the Gardiner-Chelsea area most of his life, graduating from Gardiner Area High School. He then attended Roberts Wesleyan College (New York) then SMVTI (Portland). After several construction jobs, he worked for BIW (Harding Plant) as a fabricator for 37 years.
He loved trains, traveling to train shows across the Northeast. He and his father built his own railroad around his backyard. He also loved taking his two nephews, Eric and Shawn, on fun trips, always making sure they stayed where there was a swimming pool.
He is predeceased by his mother, Helen.
He is survived by his father, Bob Canfield; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and John Hutchinson; two nephews, Eric and Shawn Hutchinson; a great-niece and nephew, Dahlia and Oliver Hutchinson; aunts and cousins in Wisconsin and Texas.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday Oct. 7, at 2 p.m., at the Wall Cemetery on Riverside Drive across from the Red Barn, in Augusta
