It is so interesting that those who say they distrust doctors and scientists about getting vaccinated against COVID-19 then run to those very same doctors and scientists when they get sick from it. Apparently after they get infected they have a great awakening and realize that COVID is not a hoax, and that the doctors and scientists were right. It is always too bad when people choose to learn things the hard way.

But here is the thing. The unvaccinated, who screech about their “rights,” are violating everyone else’s rights. They are getting COVID and taking up hospital beds that people with other illnesses need. They are spreading COVID and causing the re-implementation of mitigation rules such as mask-wearing. And, worst of all, by keeping the pandemic going they are very possibly creating additional variants that could be even worse than the delta variant.

So it is very good that we are seeing vaccine requirements, and we need more of them. Vaccine requirements are nothing new. We have had them for generations for school and college attendance, for many jobs (including many in healthcare), to travel to certain places overseas, for military service, etc. (Even Mr. and Mrs. Trump got the vaccine and recommend getting it. So what’s the problem?)

The anti-vaxxers are just a noisy disinformed minority. The responsible people who have been vaccinated are the majority by far. And I for one am very tired of the unvaccinated people who are trampling on our rights.
