I am writing to express my support of Marci Alexander for mayor of Augusta. Marci will make an excellent mayor. Augusta has a history of strong non-partisan city government where all views are respected and solutions are arrived at by consensus and she will continue that tradition. She treats everyone with respect, understands the issues, and is ready to build on the progress Augusta has made over the last 20 years.

During her time on the City Council, Marci has supported numerous economic development projects in the city and numerous family centric projects. She knows that economic viability and family prosperity go hand in hand. As mayor she will continue to support programs that keep Augusta families strong: affordable housing, access to child care, economic revitalization of commercial properties, and increased recreational activities.

Marci has brought fresh eyes to City Council. She is not a perpetual candidate. She chose to run for council and now mayor in order to give back and as a response to her children’s concerns about whether the city would have enough opportunity and vitality to provide a future for them. She is a successful private businessperson stepping up to help the citizens of Augusta with her energy and vision. I wholeheartedly support Marci Alexander for mayor.
