MADISON – On Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, our mother, Sylvia “Sue” (Chalk) Wrigley, 78, passed away peacefully in Portland, Maine. She was born on July 14, 1943 in Newport-News, Va. to James Wray Chalk and Lucibel “Cooper” Chalk.

Mom lived in many areas around the country, but she especially loved Morro Bay, California, and Madison, Maine. She passed on her love of science fiction and reading to her children and grandchildren. She also loved to cook, crochet and knit. Mom loved the fellowship at church, the former Madison Congregational Church (UCC) and the Morro Bay First Christian Church. Where she enjoyed choir, and bible study.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Fred E. Chalk, her Uncle Edward B. Chalk and his wife Ruth.

She is survived by her brother Lawrence L. Chalk, her daughter’s Rhonda Bishop (husband Bobby),and Ruth-Dawn Griffeth, five grandsons Dillon, Joshua, Mark, Randy, and

Ryan and her three great-grandchildren Alexander, Carter and Tatiana.

We would like to thank everyone who touched our mothers life especially Beth, Margie, Lois,

and Mark. Thank you for all your love and support that you gave to not only our mom but us as well at this difficult time in our lives.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date, in Maine. Mom always loved Morro Bay,

California and her ashes will be scattered at sea, off the coast.
