Paul Dennis Golden

LEWISTON – Paul Dennis Golden of Lewiston died at his home Oct. 12, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Augusta on March 21, 1946, and was the son of Augustus John and Dorothea (Cunningham) Golden.

He attended schools in Gardner and also in Hallowell. He was employed by Associated Grocers for several years. He was also employed by Carlton Woolen of Winthrop. His last employment was Bates Mill in Lewiston where he retired.

In his younger years Paul was an avid hunter of ducks and deer. Paul loved Striped Bass and fishing with his Son, Christopher on the Kennebec River. He enjoyed ice fishing, and if he had 10 flags go up he would say that he was slaying them, even if he didn’t catch a fish. Paul also loved smelting at Bakers Smelt Camps in Pittston, he was one of their first customers when they opened the business. Another favorite past time was a game of Acey-Duecey with his son, Chris. They would play for hours.

Paul was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Mark, and his brother-in-law Donald Carleton.

Survivors include his son Christopher Golden and wife April of Wilton; sister Judith Carleton of Augusta, brother John Golden and wife Linda of Whitefield, a sister Carollee Robinson and husband Ervin of Augusta, a sister Karen O’Brien and husband Mark of Pittston, sister Gale Hasenfus and husband Alfred of Winthrop. He also is survived by his best friend Horace of Lewiston.
