Susie A. Norcross

AUGUSTA – Susie A. Norcross, 90, of Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 27, 1930 the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Gallagher) Maxim. She attended schools in Bath and Monmouth as well as Monmouth Academy. Susie married Robert Norcross of Winthrop in 1948.

Susie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 2012; her son, Guy, in 2013; four half-brothers, Roy, Kenneth, Irvin “Bucky” Jr., and Clayton “Micky”, and seven half-sisters, Leona, Tena, Louise, Virginia, Dorothy, Ruth, and Erma.

She is survived by her son, Dean Norcross and his wife Lise of Farmingdale, her daughters Virginia Morgan and her husband Robert of Randolph, and Susan Greenlaw and her husband Steve of Augusta; four grandchildren, Wendy Dodge and her husband Dan of West Gardiner, Joseph Norcross Bishop and his wife Kathy of Virginia, Jeffrey Morgan and his wife Kelly of Augusta, and Erik Greenlaw and his wife Sheena of Augusta, three step-grandchildren Alec Roberts-Poulin of St. George, Kan., Jarryd Roberts-Poulin of Edgewood, Wash., and Derrick Roberts-Poulin of Farmingdale; four great-grandchildren, Chris Dodge and his wife Sarah of Gardiner, Peyton, Lia, and Jesse Morgan of Augusta, and Coralie Greenlaw of Augusta; and two great-great-grandchildren, Mattie and Ryann Dodge of Gardiner; one sister-in-law, Emily Ward of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Susie will be held Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta, followed by committal prayers at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd. in Augusta at 2 p.m.
