ROCKPORT — Maine Media Workshops + College’s weekly online Alumni Lecture Series continues from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19. Photographer Sal Taylor Kydd is scheduled to discuss her newest book of photographs, “Yesterday.”

The lecture is hosted by Aline Smithson, visual artist, educator, editor and founder of the fine art photography periodical LENSCRATCH.

“Sal Taylor Kydd has created an exquisite exploration of remembrance, with a particular poetry that runs through her images and words,” said Aline Smithson, according to a news release from Maine Media. “It’s the poetry of knowing a place steeped in personal histories, a place that holds a sense of belonging and timelessness.”

Originally from the United Kingdom, Kydd earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in modern languages from Manchester University and has a Master of Find Arts degree in photography from Maine Media College. Her photographs have been exhibited across the world, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Mexico and Spain.

Kydd is also a writer and poet, and has published books combining these two art forms. Her books are in private and museum collections throughout the country, including the J. Paul Getty Museum, Bowdoin College, the Peabody Essex Museum, the Franklin Furnace Artist Books Collection and the Maine Women Writers Collection at the University of New England.
