Alan David Carey

READFIELD – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Alan David Carey, of Readfield. He passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at the age of 69. Alan passed peacefully with his beloved family by his side. He was a born again Christian and went to his heavenly home to live with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

Alan was born on Feb. 2, 1952, to Louis and Caroline Carey, in Waterville. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, and by his beloved sister Mary Carey Rollins and brother Daniel Carey. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deb Carey; daughters Jessica and Kathryn; and much-loved granddaughter, Emma. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Soucy, and brothers Carlton Carey and Paul Carey. He is also survived by several in-laws; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alan met the love of his life while attending the University of Maine at Farmington, where he received a B.S. in Secondary Education. He went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration from Thomas College, followed by a designation as a Certified Financial Planner from the college of Financial Planning. As a CFP at Prime Financial Inc., Alan enjoyed passionately serving his clients and had the pleasure of doing so for many years.

Alan was an avid camper and enjoyed sitting around the campfire playing harmonica with his granddaughter, Emma. An active member in several communities, Alan mentored and coached many youths through soccer, basketball, and softball. He loved to cruise Maranacook lake with his family and enjoyed everything that came along with the fall season. Alan enjoyed many different church activities including life group, where he and Deb enjoyed growing in their faith together as members of the Pathway Vineyard Church.

Above all, he lived his life as a servant to God, and will be greatly missed by many.

A Celebration of Life for Alan will be held on Saturday, November 6th, at 11 a.m. at the Pathway Vineyard Church, 12 Foss Road, Lewiston. All are invited to attend.
