I am a lifelong resident of Augusta. I had the good fortune of meeting Marci Alexander at the University of Southern Maine as a student. We both lived in the same dorm, across the hall from each other. We have been friends ever since.

Marci’s husband Troy Alexander and I both worked together at the long-closed Mr. Market in Augusta. I was glad when Marci and Troy met and moved to Augusta after college to start a family. I remember when she was in Augusta Jaycees and worked on the haunted houses. She brought her children to my parents’ house on Myrtle Street every year for Halloween trick-or-treating. I have been lucky to see her two wonderful daughters grow up to be exceptional women.

Many of the letters to the editor talk about Marci’s professional skills, but I know her as a good friend, a caring person, and an exceptional mom.

Marci is good at listening to peoples’ concerns and finding thoughtful solutions. I can say with certainty that Marci will do a great job as Mayor of Augusta.
