Judith “Judy” M. (McCullough) McLeod

SMITHFIELD – Judith “Judy” M. (McCullough) McLeod passed away Oct. 16, 2021, in Skowhegan. She was born in St. Albans, Vt., on June 29, 1934, the daughter of the late Thomas B. McCullough and Grace Spear McCullough.Judy graduated from Calais High School in 1951 and from Roger Williams General Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, R.I., in 1954. In 1966 Judy married John E. McLeod, who predeceased her in April 2007. Working as a registered nurse for over 43 years, Judy worked at hospitals in Calais, Providence, R.I., and Skowhegan, at Redington Fairview General Hospital, retiring in 1998.She is survived by four children; Joni Gould and husband Timothy of Smithfield, Jay McLeod and wife Susan of Smithfield, Jennifer Finch and husband Robert of Hooksett, N.H., and Jessica McLeod of Bangor.Also surviving Judy are her siblings, Elizabeth Walton and husband Alan of Bath, David McCullough and wife Jenifer of Gorham, Roberta Irish of Windham and Lyn Roberts of Florida; her fourth sister, Susan McCullough Bull, predeceased her in 1985. Judy had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank Judy’s special caretakers, Sally Wheaton and Connie Ladd, as well her friends and neighbors Brian and Linda Sullivan.There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at 1 p.m., at Gould Cemetery on Village Road in Smithfield.
