ANSON – Samuel “Sam” J. Gray, 93, passed away Oct. 16, 2021 at his home in Skowhegan with his beloved wife of 72 years and children by his side. He was born June 12, 1928, in Anson, the son of Albert and Mary (Flannery) Gray.He attended Madison Schools and married his wife on November 24, 1949. He worked throughout his life for the shoe industry and after retirement, he worked for the town of Skowhegan. He loved his family and that was always his top priority his entire life. Sam loved Skowhegan football and attended all the games for 40 years until health issues set in. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.Sam is survived by his wife, Jean (Breingan) Gray; daughter, Brenda (Gray) Charrier; sons, Randall Gray and wife Rose, Samuel Gray Jr. and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Staci Tozier, Danielle Charrier, Andrea Kane, Amy Gray, Olivia Gray, Rodney Gray, Jason Gray, Jennifer Noyes, Chelsea Bennett, Haley Farrin; brother, Eddie Gray and wife Elaine; sisters, Pearl Turcotte, Emma Boivon and husband O’Neil and Louellen O’Keefe.
