I live on Cathy Street in Augusta. I’m a retired detective from the Maine attorney general’s office, where Marci Alexander was my supervisor as the director of the Healthcare Crimes Unit. Marci supports law enforcement and public safety.

Together we investigated and prosecuted many health care crimes. Many of the cases involved elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. Marci is a fierce advocate for protecting the elderly. Through our hard work and diligence we were able to prosecute many criminals.

Now that I’m retired, I appreciate that Marci is running for mayor because I know that she will be a fierce protector of retirees like me. Marci is fiscally responsible with money and I know that she will be careful with our tax dollars.

I also know that she will make sure we have great public safety services and feel safe in our community.

It’s not everyone that would write a letter to the editor about their former boss. However I can tell you that Marci is a great person to work for, to work with and to be friends with.

I am voting for Marci Alexander and you should too!
