On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Augusta will be electing a new mayor. I am pleased and honored to write in support of Mark O’Brien for this seat.
Mark is driven by his passion for the community, not to make a name for himself or to pursue a certain agenda. He is kind, trustworthy, approachable and a team player. And maybe most importantly, he has the ability to make tough decisions, ones that may not be the most popular but are necessary.
Mark understands what our community wants because he is deeply rooted within it. He grew up here, he and Julie raised their five children here and he has served our community in many different ways over the years. His service to Augusta has allowed him to get close to the citizens and being the great listener that he is, he hears the concerns, ideas and the direction people want to see our city go.
Augusta has come a long way, and that is because of citizens who have stepped up, cared for our city and its people, and have truly made a difference. Mark is one of those leaders, and he will make an excellent mayor, continuing his service to our great city.
I hope you will join me in voting for Mark O’Brien for mayor.
