Jacqueline “Jackie” G. Prince

MONMOUTH – Jacqueline “Jackie” G. Prince, 87, a resident of Monmouth, died peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021 at her home in Monmouth. She was born June 20, 1934 in Saco, the daughter of J. Emile and Emelda (Morin) Corneau.

Jackie attended elementary school in Saco, and was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Portland. She attended nursing school and received her RN at Cambridge City Hospital, in Cambridge, Mass. Jackie began her career at the Jewish Home for the Aged in St. Paul, Minn. and she returned to Maine to work at the Maine Medical Center in Portland for 11 years.

On Sept. 9, 1967 in Saco, she married Nelson W. Prince who passed away in 2001. In 1988 she resumed her nursing career at the Kennebec Valley Medical Center in Augusta. She was a past president of the Monmouth PTC and had been involved in numerous school activites. Jackie was a lifelong opera lover, and enjoyed sports, reading, and puzzles.

She is survived by a son, Scott D. Prince and son-in-law Norman D. Johnson, both of Washington, DC; her longtime friend and constant companion, Tobey F. Burgess; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Nelson W. Prince.

Memorial services will be held at BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main St., Monmouth, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the memorial service.
