Lee V. Rankin
SKOWHEGAN – Lee V. Rankin, 81, passed away Nov. 8, 2021, peacefully with his wife by his side from a very aggressive form of leukemia at EMMC in Bangor.
Lee was born March 22, 1940, in Brooklyn and spent his first 10 years in Hollis, N.Y. The family moved to New Jersey where he later worked as a machinist from 1957-1975. In May of 1975 the move was made to Jackman, Maine, where he worked as a machinist/mechanic at Moose River Lumber Co. for over 25 years. Lee began a part-time apartment rental/home renovation business in 1994 with then partner and best friend Wendy Lumbert. In 2002 it transformed into a full-time business following his retirement and their move to Waterville. They moved to Skowhegan in 2005 where the business continues. He was proud of their hard work. They were married in 2006.
Lee is survived by his wife Wendy and constant furry companion, Lexi. Also daughter Alicia (Jon Varney Jr.), sons, Thomas (Patsy), Glenn, and several Grand and Great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, C.Glenn Rankin, mother, Margaret White Rankin. Sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Schug, daughter, Linda Darby and grandson Brian Darby. He also would want to mention his dearly missed dogs, Julie, Jenna and Jaxon.
Per Lee’s request, no memorial service will be held. A celebration of life may be held at the convenience of the Family at a later date.
