GFWC Semper Fidelis Club participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by “Painting the Town Pink.” Members painted cardboard ribbons pink to display in the downtown Skowhegan area businesses and Redington-Fairview General Hospital. Hearing the story of a breast cancer survivor at a recent meeting, members were encouraged to keep important exams up to date, self-exam, and be one’s own advocate. Raising awareness is of the upmost importance in early detection and prevention. From left are Carol Jarvais, Maureen Provencal, Nancy Ames and Lynn Rooney. Contributed photo
