William “Aaron” Padgett

CANAAN – William “Aaron” Padgett died unexpectedly on November 10, 2021, at his home in Canaan with family by his side.

Aaron was born on December 25, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of James and Sandra Padgett. In his younger years, he lived in many places being part of a Navy family before finally calling Canaan home. He attended Skowhegan High School and was a member of the football, basketball and track team and graduated in 1997. After high school he worked for a brief time at the Irving Big Stop in Fairfield. Aaron then went on to work for Pepsi/Frito-Lay for 25 years, first as a merchandiser and then as a driver after obtaining his CDL. He took great pride in his dedication and hard work at all of his jobs.

In 2007, Aaron welcomed his son, Cooper, into the world. Being a dad was his biggest joy in life. He took great pride in being an amazing father not only to Cooper but to his stepdaughters, Lorryn and Courtney. Family was so important to him and he was an amazing son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend to so many. He was a mentor to many youth in the surrounding communities and became a role model in their lives. His smile and positive outlook were a contagious blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Aaron is survived by his son, Cooper Padgett; daughters: Lorryn Tardy and Courtney Padgett; his father, Jim Padgett; siblings: Carroll Delbaugh, James Padgett II and wife Melissa, Ella Padgett and partner Tim O’Neil, Jeff Padgett and wife Kellie; nephews: Michael “Jake” Reynolds and Jacoby Padgett; aunts and uncles: Becky Baker, Harold “Wayne” Ray, and Polly Ray; a special cousin, Melissa Gifford; and many special friends most of which he considered family.

He was predeceased by his loving mother, Sue Padgett; and his brother Edmond “Ed” Padgett.

The family will be accepting visitors from 5-7 p.m., Monday November 15, 2021, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue. Pittsfield. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the funeral home, with his father, Rev. James Padgett officiating. A committal will immediately follow at the Walker Cemetery, in Canaan.
