David Wesley Hobert

FARMINGTON – David Wesley Hobert, 77, of Farmington passed away peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.

He was born Feb. 3, 1944 in Farmington and attended schools in Farmington and married the love of his life Gloria Marie (Douin) Hobert in 1965.

David worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Plant followed by Farmington Shoe Shop for many years. He then spent over 22 years, logging more than 23,000 hours in a town loader-plow, for the Town of Farmington Highway Department until retirement in December 2009.

David was a beloved father and family man providing a home, along with his wife, for his children. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. If David was not home, he and Gloria were most likely riding the back roads of Northwestern Maine with their two sons seeking out a pond or brook to fish. He also held a special place in his heart for his dogs, in which was very much a part of the family.

He is survived by two sons, Daniel D. Hobert of New Port Richey Fla. and James D. Hobert and wife Gina, of Farmington; five grandchildren, Jennica, Riley, Ariel, Tiffany and Teressa; nine great-grandchildren; and his much-loved sister, Sandra Cook of Jay; many nieces; and close friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Romayne (Hemingway) Hobert; and his wife, Gloria (Douin) Hobert.

Memories may be shared in his Book of Memories at http://www. Wilesrc.com. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.
