AUGUSTA — If it’s Thanksgiving in Augusta, it means the return of the Gasping Gobbler 5K.

The event took place Thursday near Cony Middle School and Cony High School. There were a total of 138 entrants in this year’s race, which is a fundraiser held by the Cony track and cross country teams to benefit Cony All Sport Boosters.

The first male finisher was Eric Hamel with a time of 15:51.24. The first female finisher was Karyn Norwood at 20:02.45.

Hamel and Norwood each won a frozen turkey, dinner rolls and a pie. In the age group awards, first place was a frozen turkey, followed by the pie and rolls.
