ROME – Barbara J. Webster, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2021 at Northern Light Continuing Care Lakewood, in Waterville, following a brief illness. Her daughters were at her side.

Born in New Jersey on March 9, 1934, Barbara was the only child of Gertrude and Thomas Winters. Time spent with her grandparents, Henrietta and Cornelius Mengedoth, were among some of her fondest memories as a child. She was a graduate of Ridgewood High School, in Ridgewood, New Jersey and served on the Waldwick, New Jersey Ambulance Corp prior to moving to Maine in 1972.

Barbara was employed by The State of Maine for 18 years and was a member of the Union Church in Belgrade Lakes.

Barbara will be dearly missed by all and is survived by her three children; a son, Ronald Wilson, Jr. and his companion Janet Dixon of Fayette and daughters, Donna Wilson of Rome and Karen Liberty of Belgrade, as well as, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and cousin, Kathie Bangs and family of Rome. Barbara would have been a great, great grandmother this January.

Per Barbara’s wishes, no funeral services will be offered. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
