Brenda Jo (Cole) Letourneau

PITTSFIELD – Brenda Jo (Cole) Letourneau, daughter of the late Marshall and Gertrude (Hustus) Cole, passed away unexpectedly at Sebasticook Valley Hospital on Nov. 21, 2021. Brenda was born May 5, 1955, the youngest of 10 children. She grew up in Thorndike and was a 1973 graduate of Mt. View High School.

Through the years, Brenda held various jobs locally in Belfast and Unity. She was one of the most dependable, trustworthy, and honest persons you could meet. She was quiet by nature, but knew how to have a good time with her quick wit and teasing nature.

She was the wife of Leonel “Petty” Letourneau, and for many years made her home in Freedom before relocating to Troutman, N.C. in 2007. They shared a love for street rods and camping. Brenda was the devoted and extremely proud mother of her daughter, Jennifer, and son, Christopher. Brenda had a passion for auto racing and took great pride in Chris’s career in NASCAR. Most recently, Brenda made her home with her loving daughter, Jen, who was by her mother’s side when she passed.

Among Brenda’s blessings were her three grandchildren and more recently, her great-granddaughter. Brenda was well-loved by her family and friends and will be remembered with love and gratitude.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Petty, and brothers, Marshall Jr (Mickey), George, Richard, Laurence (Stubby), and Lewis Cole; sisters, Marilyn Paquet and Janette Hayes, and brother-in-law, Ivan Paquet.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Peter) Smedberg of Burnham and Christopher (Jody) Letourneau of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren Katherine “Kat” Crocker and husband Ryan, Nick Smedberg, and Lucas Letourneau; great-granddaughter, Josephine “Josie” Crocker; brothers, Nelson (Marge) Cole and Stephen (Brenda) Cole, sisters-in-law, Marjorie, Beverly, and Louise Cole, and Elizabeth Sullivan; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She shared a life-long bond with her niece, Dianne Meserve, who will miss her everyday.

Arrangements are by Downeast Direct Cremation of Bangor. The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
