Claton R. Corriveau

AUGUSTA – Claton R. Corriveau, 79, died peacefully on Nov. 22, 2021, in Togus. Claton was born on Sept. 13, 1942, in Hartford, Conn., a son of the late Rosario and Jeannette (Dube) Corriveau.

He grew up in Patton, Maine, and proudly served our country in the United States Army. After returning home from Vietnam, he enrolled in Aroostook State Teachers College where he met his wife Sharon (Rose) Corriveau). He was a history teacher then worked as an elementary/middle school principal first in Hartland, secondly in Jay, and finally in Pittsfield from where he retired. He enjoyed spending time with family and sailing his sailboat off the coast of Maine with the Maine Ericson Yacht Group, which he did every summer.

He is survived by his daughter, Allison Scott and husband Earl of Coral Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kameron Scott and wife Shelby, Jordan Scott, and Trey Scott; one great-grandson, Luca; one great-granddaughter, Reagan; siblings, Michael Corriveau and wife Christy, Rosemarie Caldwell and husband Timothy, and John Corriveau and wife Tonya; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Sharon; his brother, Armand Corriveau and his sister, Eva Corriveau.

A memorial service for both Claton and Sharon will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, with Deacon Dave Denbow officiating. A committal will immediately follow at the Blue Star Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Avenue, Augusta.
