Ronald Paul Bourgoin

WINSLOW – Ronald Paul Bourgoin, born to the parents of Edmond and Albertine (Berube) Bourgoin of Waterville. With great sadness we announce the passing of Ron Bourgoin on Nov. 18, 2021, at Togus Veterans Hospital with his family by his side. Ron fought many battles in his lifetime, one being in Vietnam during the war. Most recently with Parkinson disease that took his life. Ron attended Waterville High School and after joined the Marine Corps in 1964. Sergeant Ronald P. Bourgoin is a True Hero with commendations to say how he repeatedly exposed himself to the enemy fire to bring ammunition, hand grenades and shouting encouragement to his men. Ron was very proud to have been head custodian at Winslow High School, loved his peers and students thought of him as being cool. He retired in 2014. He has given us many great memories that will hold us together. He always brightened our days and will continue to be the strength and foundation of our family. His infections smile, which he had to the very end, is sure to be sharing with his loved ones above. Card games oh yeah and with his luck of gambling no doubt he is winning. He also enjoyed going on cruises and going to the Islands with family. He really enjoyed the parties we had planning all the trips. Most of all he enjoyed going out to eat on Friday night then going to either the Elks Club or Winslow VFW with his family and friends. Ron married his true love and soulmate Rachel Hallee, celebrating 53 years together. He is survived by wife, Rachel; son Ronald Bourgoin of New Hampshire, daughter, Renee Longley and husband Chris of Oakland; five grandchildren, Paige Sullivan and husband Jake of Augusta, Jarred Bourgoin stationed in Alaska, Chantel Plummer and husband Zac of Palermo, Kaitlyn Longley and partner Dylan Tillson of Oakland, Christopher Longley and partner Taylor Dawson of Sidney; six great-grandchildren Zoey, Scarlett and Emerson Sullivan, Jeffrey and Jameson Plummer and Lillian Tillson; one sister Pat “Marie” Gurney and husband Ed, three brothers Eugene Bourgoin, Joe “Cowboy” Bourgoin and wife Carol, Donald Bourgoin and wife Libby, sister in-law Carlene Bourgoin and Becca Genest, brother in-law Robert Hallee and wife Joyce, Francis Poulin; and many nieces and nephews.
