David J. Akers Sr.
WATERVILLE – David J. Akers, Sr., 76, passed away Nov. 25, 2021 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. He was born Dec. 22, 1944 in Waterville, the son of Jessie T. Sr. and Marie C. (Steves) Akers.
He attended Waterville High School and worked for many years as a dietary aide in a hospital. On August 1, 1964, he married Nancy Morrell.
David is survived by son, David J Akers Jr. and wife Rachel of Albion, daughters, Melissa Fletcher and husband Mark of Albion, Alice Fletcher and husband John of China; brothers, Roger Akers, Jessie Akers Jr and wife Laurel; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy (Morrell) Akers in 2019; son Bruce E Akers.
A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2022 at the convenience of the family.
