Deborah (Batey) Pomeroy

FAIRFIELD – Deborah (Batey) Pomeroy, 71, passed away unexpectedly at home on Nov. 29, 2021. She was born in Dexter on Jan. 5, 1950, the daughter of Robert and Beverly (Ronco) Batey. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1968.

Debi worked at Keyes Fibre from 1970 to 1979. She then went on to have a successful career in banking. She started out as a bank teller and loan officer at Keyes Fiber Credit Union. Her biggest achievement was when she became CEO of HealthFirst Federal Credit Union in 1989. She worked there until her retirement in 2012.

Debi enjoyed spending time with her family the most. She adored and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dogs very much.

She loved traveling, gardening, shopping, and going to the casino. She was a very talented painter and knitter, having made many special gifts for family.

Debi and Charlie spent several winters in Bonita Springs, Fla., making many wonderful memories with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Beverly Batey.

She is survived by her lifelong soul mate, and very loving husband, Charlie, who have been together for 59 years, married for 54. Her daughter and family are, Tracy Pomeroy (Doug); granddaughter, Miranda (Mike); grandson, Ross; two great grandchildren, Gabby and Reese; and two step grandchildren, Maddy and Izzy; her daughter and family, Darcy Liberty (Rob); two grandsons, Rob (Hannah) and Connor (Mary); and great-granddaughter, RaeLynn; and a great-grandson due in March 2022; her son and family, Cory Pomeroy (Kirsten); granddaughter, Cassidy (Cody); great grandson due in June 2022; granddaughter, Courtney (Jared); and grandson, Colby (Bodhi); her brothers, Barry (Sarah) and Gary (Cindy); and also many more extended family members; and her best friends, Chuck and Jodi Knox; and lifelong friends, Lil Levesque, Anne Boulette and Cindy Palmieri.

There will be no visiting hours. A burial will take place in the spring.
