Robert A. Moreau Sr.

HOPE – Robert A. Moreau, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at the home of his loving daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Alan Boulette, where he resided for almost two years after the passing of his beloved wife, Janice (Lanteigne) Moreau.

Bobby was born to Harmond and Rose (Gagnon) Moreau on Oct. 17, 1939. He was raised in Oakland with his siblings, Ronald and Roberta (Yvette) Moreau. He played football and basketball for Williams High School. After marrying Janice in 1957 they made their home in Waterville and then later in Rome. He was a member of the Army National Guard reserves and he retired from Keyes Fibre Company after many years of service.

While in Waterville, Bobby was a lieutenant with the volunteer fire department, he was a Farm League, Little League and Youth League coach of baseball, he also coached Boy’s Club basketball and Pop Warner football. He shared his love of sports with Jay and mentored he and his friends as they grew up.

After the kids graduated from high school, Bobby and Janice moved to Rome to Little North Pond. There, they built a welcoming gathering spot for many family and friends and their extended families. He also grew his love and enthusiasm for bass fishing and hunting and shared that with Jay. Bobby also served as Selectman for the Town of Rome and gave selflessly to serve the town and its people. He was a true man of service.

The only thing Bobby loved more than Janice and his kids, were his grandkids. He spent many years supporting them and their interests and lent his encouragement and love at every turn.

Bobby was predeceased by his wife, Janice (Lanteigne) Moreau; his parents, Harmand and Rose Moreau; his sister, Roberta (Yvette) Moreau, his sisters-in-law, Martha Lanteigne and Jane Moreau, his brother-in-law, Dale Buzzell; and his grandson, Matthew Boulette.

He is survived by his loving children, Tamblyn and Alan Boulette, and Robert (Jay) and Jeanne Moreau; his grandchildren, Nicholas Boulette, Jennifer (Boulette) and Rick Tingler, Nathan and Molly Boulette, Allison (Boulette) Harris, and Whitney (Moreau) and Kenny Raymond. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Alex and Dylan Boulette, Emma Ketch, Isaiah and Xavier Tingler, Connor and Gemma Harris, and Elia, Lucy, Mia and Hazel Boulette. Bobby is also survived by Janice’s siblings, Eugene (Buddy) Lanteigne and Judy (Lanteigne) Buzzell and their extended families, cousins and many, many friends. Bobby will be missed by so many!

These past several months at home with Tam and Al were rich with great care, great meals, Gunsmoke…and much love and compassion.

A private burial service will take place at a future date when he will be reunited with Janice.
