Eva “Terry” Bailey

MADISON – Eva “Terry” Bailey, 87, passed away in her home in Madison on November 25, 2021. She was born in Torrington, Conn. on October 8, 1934, to Adam Asklar and Mary (Tycienski) Asklar.Eva graduated from Torrington High and worked at the Torrington Needle Ball Bearing plant where she met her husband. After she married, she became a homemaker and raised her three daughters. The family moved to Madison in 1970. She and Harold enjoyed traveling and they took many trips and cruises together. She was also very active in the community being a member of the Madison Woman’s Club, and the Garden Club along with being a Girl Scout leader.Eva had many hobbies: Sewing (she made all her girl’s clothes and winter coats), Quilting, Basket Making, Tole Painting, refinishing furniture and many others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved very much.Eva was predeceased by her husband, Harold Bailey, whom she missed and loved very much. She was also predeceased by her parents and older bother Francis Asklar.Eva is survived by her children, Susan Schena and her husband Robert of Whitefield, Diane Daggett and her husband Sonny of New Vineyard, and Linda Magurn and her husband Jim of Madison; her six grandchildren, Christopher Ireland and his wife Brandi, Terri Parker and her husband Jon, Lexi Daggett and her boyfriend Cameron, Heather Magurn and her fiancé Chad, Patrick Magurn, and Russell Magurn; and her seven great grandchildren Kade, Ireland, Jayden Meader, Karter Meader, Alyssa Parker, Jason Magurn, and Logan Wynn. She also leaves behind her brother Edward Asklar and his wife Lois from Torrington, Conn., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.At her wish there will be no services. There will be a private burial with the family in the Spring.
