BOWDOIN – Carolyn M. (Berry) McKinzie, 56, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. She is the devoted longtime companion to Paul P. Bernier, Jr.
Carolyn was born Nov. 1, 1965, in Augusta, the daughter of Charles N. and Ann (Nichols) Berry. She was a Gardiner Area High School Class of 1984 graduate. She went on to further her education at KVCC where she received her degree in Nursing.

Carolyn loved helping family and others in their time of need. She will always be remembered as a caring person with a kind heart. She enjoyed playing her guitar and traveling.

Carolyn worked at the South Parish Congregational Church and previously worked as an LPN for several years.

For many years Carolyn wrote articles for the amputee coalition of America.

In addition to her loving companion Paul, Carolyn is survived by her son Trevor Berry and Tanya Marinez of Farmingdale, her grandson Owen, her sister Kathy Bolduc of Gardiner, her brothers Wayne Berry of Kansas and Billy Berry of Vanburen.

Carolyn is predeceased by her brother David Berry and her brother-in-law David Bolduc.

Carolyn’s Memorial Service will be in the South Parish Congregational Church, 9 Church St. Augusta, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
