PLYMOUTH – Richard MacIntosh, 78, died Dec. 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1943 in St. John, New Brunswick, a son of James and Gladys (Ingleton) MacIntosh. He graduated from Newport High School and, together with his wife Diane, owned and operated MacIntosh Construction Sales and Service. He enjoyed roller skating in his youth and met his wife there. He was a well-known contractor, builder and car salesman in the area. He will be remembered for always being willing to help others and donate his time to various community projects. He had many friends and was well loved and respected in the Plymouth community. Richard truly enjoyed operating his machinery, having run his excavator the day before he went into the hospital. Richard also enjoyed playing cards with his family.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carolyn MacIntosh of Plymouth; two sisters, Catherine Meagher of Corinna, and Jean McIntosh of Newport; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Heath Skinner, who was like a son to him, and Tony Valley, who was his partner and good friend.There will be no services at his request.
