Leonard Corson

SKOWHEGAN – Leonard Corson passed away on Dec. 6, 2021 at Woodlawn Rehab and Nursing Center in Skowhegan. He was born on Feb. 2, 1928 in Athens, the son of Rosie M. (Corson) Corson and Harry W. Corson. He attended Athens schools.

Leonard was a dairyman and a woodsman. He enjoyed fishing and riding his bike in earlier years. In his later years he loved doing puzzles, building and painting bird houses, listening to music and watching the happenings on the news. He also enjoyed auto rides with friends and family.

Leonard is survived by a brother, Erald Corson and wife Leora, two sisters, Colean “Betty” Brown, and his youngest sister, Phylis Corson Avery and her husband Sanford.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Rosie Corson; brothers Elden, Aaron, Glendon, Elery, Allen, and Royce and his sisters Vivian and Welma.

Leonard’s family would like to thank the staff at the Group Home that Leonard lived at in Calais and the staff at the Rehab and Nursing Center in Machias and the staff at the Woodlawn Rehab and Nursing Center (especially the young lady that was with him at on his passing).

There will be a graveside service at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Athens in the spring. Arrangement are under the care and direction of Smart and Edwards Funeral Home, http://www.SmartandEdwardsFH.com
