Should Maine be doing more to prevent the spread of omicron?

Maine was long considered one of the safest parts of the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but the delta variant of the virus has led to a surge of cases in the state. That’s turned Maine into a national hot spot for infections, even as the more contagious omicron variant, which was first detected in the state about two weeks ago. Meanwhile, state officials said Wednesday that they’re easing quarantine and isolation rules for schools to align with new federal guidelines to help schools keep children in the classroom, despite an expected surge of cases in the coming weeks as omicron’s reach expands.

What do you think? Should state officials be doing more to address the emergence of omicron in Maine? If so, what do you think should be done? Tell us in the comments below.
