Clarence Ansel Blodgett Jr.

SKOWHEGAN – Clarence Ansel Blodgett Jr., 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 18, 2021, at Woodlands Memory Care of Madison, Maine. Clarence was born Jan. 9, 1946, in Fairfield, Maine to Clarence Blodgett and Christine Decker Blodgett.

He was raised on a farm and attended the Fairfield schools until he was drafted into the Army in 1965 and served until 1967. In 1968, Clarence married the love of his life, Lena Grace Fotter. Clarence excelled at littleway stitching and was employed by Norrwock Shoe, Dexter Shoe, and then retired from New Balance Shoe in 2010, while maintaining a small farm on the side. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, family gatherings, playing guitar, deer hunting and going to the livestock auction.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Christine, sisters Priscilla Garland, and Bernice Lovejoy, and brothers Earlon, Gerald, and Brian. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lena; sons Andrew S. Blodgett and his wife Danielle; Troy A. Blodgett and his wife Cherri; daughters, Marlena Lewis and her husband Brandon; Tina Cameron and her husband Matthew; grandchildren Brittnie Loucks, Eli and Grady Blodgett, Simon, Ava and Leah Lewis, and Kerra and Timothy Cameron; sisters Carolyn Vining, Norma Wentworth, Janey Blodgett, Debbie Demo, Donna Blodgett. Brothers; Donald, Ron, Terry and Steve. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express our thanks for the care given by Woodlands and Hospice.

A memorial and graveside service will be held in the spring 2022.
