Penelope Jean Andrews

WEST GARDINER – Penelope Jean Andrews, 61, lost a valiant fight against cancer on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 with her loved ones by her side. She was born on Dec. 30, 1959, to Sylvester and Shirley Macintosh. Penny has fond memories of growing up in central Maine, with special memories of traveling to Mexico as a foreign Exchange student. She cherished raising her two boys and loved her six grandkids, with another on the way. Her years with her devoted husband helped her through life’s toughest challenges, especially her battle with cancer. Penny worked in her early years at Health-Tex in Gardiner before many years at the State of Maine. She served others as a CNA. Penny then followed her passion of running her own business as a DOT Auditor, which ended due to an unfortunate loss of her eyesight. Penny was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Keven Andrews, son’s Norman Nichols and wife Alison, Nathan Nichols and wife Kristin, step Son Corey Johnson and wife Amanda, sister Elizabeth Hinkley, beloved sidekick brother Jay Macintosh and wife Donna, grandchildren Taryn, Ben, Emmalin, Bryson, Avery, Maddy and beloved friend Pam Hall. As well as another brother and two sisters. Per Penny’s request there will not be any funeral services.We thank the Harold Alfond Cancer Center, and the Maine General Hospice and Home care Team. A special thanks to our primary nurse Theresa who we will love and respect all the days of our lives. Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home 130 Pleasant St. Richmond, Me 04357.A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, December 31st from 10 a.m. – noon at the funeral home.
