Jeannette P. Carney

AUGUSTA – Jeannette P. Carney, 71, passed away peacefully the morning of Dec. 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 26, 1950, Jeannette was the ninth child of Philippe and Lorina (Guimond) Charest.Jeannette grew up in Augusta and was a 1969 graduate of Cony High School. Fast forward to November 1987, she married Arthur Carney and the two began their life together. Jeannette spent her working years at several professions to incude IGA in Randolph and concluded them at Hammond Lumber Company. Never being someone to sit idle, Jeannette enjoyed various community organizations including the Calumet Club, the Cushnoc Senior Citizens, and the Daughters of Isabella. She was usually at the center of organizing gatherings for the family and these groups, along with making beautiful crafts to decorate such events. Anyone who knew her, knew that family was what mattered most to her. She was always with her grandsons every chance she could get, and she never missed an opportunity to tell you about them and their adventures. They were her world and she was theirs. Not to mention, she would never turn down a shopping trip with her sisters, especially Marie Jeanne and Carol. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Carney and both of her parents.She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kimball and her husband Dale; grandchildren, Jase and Gage; her siblings, Gloria Morin of Augusta, Zalpha Olson of Augusta, Maurice Charest of Augusta, Roger Charest of Augusta, Raymond Charest of Florida, Constance Zayac of Augusta, Marie Rose Fossett of Augusta, Marie Jeanne Tracy of Augusta, and Henry Charest of Missouri, along with their significant others as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 9 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta.
