Kim J. Giroux

JACKMAN – Kim J. Giroux, 51, of Jackman, passed away on Jan. 11, 2022 at Northland Living Center in Jackman.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1970 in Jackman, the son of Thomas Giroux Jr. and Lorraine Giroux. As a child, Kim was always busy. In his early years, he had a battle with cancer and hated school, but still managed to get his diploma from Forest Hills High School in 1990.

Kim loved animals and after graduating he raised ducks, rabbits, pigeons, and chickens, and even sold eggs for a time.

Kim enjoyed playing pool at the Northland Hotel and never missed a basketball game at Forest Hills, he also had a great sense of humor, he liked to joke and flirt and had a huge love for music. Kim had an unbelievable memory; he would tell stories from “Back in the Day” and could tell you the exact date and time it happened even if you could not remember.

I think Kim will be remembered most for his love of music, while his brothers were out on their deer stands Kim was on his music stand, he listened to everything from Patsy Cline to Mick Jagger, Garth Brooks to AC/DC and everywhere in between.

In the past five-plus years, Kim had been in and out of Health Care facilities because of, yet, another battle with cancer and years of medication taking a toll on his body, but he finally made in back home to Jackman. Kim was glad to see so many familiar faces.

He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Giroux Jr., his mother, Lorraine Giroux; and brother, Daniel Giroux.

He is survived by his three brothers, Thomas Giroux III, Alan Giroux, and Daryl Giroux and three sisters, Deborah Reyes, Darlene Smith, and Jennifer Padilla.

Kim, you have been a fighter all your life but now you can rest easy brother, we will miss you greatly Kimo.

A graveside service will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery in Jackman in the summer. Date and time to be announced.
