Margaret L. (Rhyno) Kimball

GARDINER – Margaret L. (Rhyno) Kimball, born on Sept. 15, 1929 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Surette) Rhyno, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at her home at the Howell House in Augusta.

She was educated in Hallowell and Gardiner schools and was a 1948 graduate of Gardiner High School.

On June 25, 1949 she married E. Henry Kimball Sr. to whom she was married for over 60 years. They had two children, Henry Jr. and Peggy.

She retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles after many years of employment and moved from Maine to St. Petersburg, Fla. where she lived for many years before returning to Maine. She loved traveling and cruising, and was a devoted fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her son; and her sister, Ann Trask.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy and husband Jim Mansir of Augusta; four grandchildren, Jeff and wife Kerry Mansir of Gardiner, Melissa (Mansir) and husband David Steinberg of Stamford, Conn., Shawn and wife Joyce Kimball of Chelsea, and Heather (Kimball) and husband Matt Gilbert of Belgrade; and many great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to note its sincere appreciation to the Augusta police and paramedics for their thoughtful care on the morning of her death, and John, Linda and Dixie from the Howell House for their constant care and attention.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner.
