‘Bright Horizon: UNE North and North Atlantic Region Artists’

Head to Biddeford to see works by artists from all over the North Atlantic region in a collaboration with UNE North: The Institute for North Atlantic Studies at UNE. Featured artists are Diana Furukawa, Ingunn Milla Joergensen, Alice Jones and Adele McFarlane Wile. Paintings, photography and text in “Bright Horizon” examine the artists’ connection to place in the North Atlantic, which can be both harsh and beautiful.

‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’

Calling all dream makers and huckleberry friends! Johnson Hall presents a free screening of the iconic 1961 classic romantic comedy “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, George Peppard as Paul Varjak and Orangey as Cat, the film was nominated for multiple Academy Awards and won for best music score and best original song, “Moon River,” written by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are 60 of them waiting for those with proof or vaccination or a negative test from within 48 hours.

‘Senior Living’

Portland Stage presents a play by the Grammy-nominated songwriter Tor Hyams and veteran Broadway performer Lisa St. Lou that bursts with music and is all about people who are dying to live. “Senior Living” happens at the retirement community Riverdale Manor. A talent show along with the possibility of after-dinner cake sets the scene for several life-changing vignettes that call into question how to spend what time we as humans have left. Saturday night’s all right for laughing, and you can do a whole lot of it in Bath. The chuckles will be provided by lifelong Mainer Johnny Ater and his hilarious tales and quips about life, family, relationships and his local friends. Ater will be joined by fellow comics Dawn Hartill, Keith Hebert and Mark Turcotte.
