WATERVILLE — A Vassalboro man is expected to recover after suffering serious injuries in a wreck on Interstate 95 in Waterville, authorities said late Monday.
A blue 2007 Chevy pickup operated by Joseph Munster, 41, was headed north when it veered off the left side of the highway around 5 a.m. Friday and went down into a ravine, Maine Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Shannon Moss said in a news release.
Munster, who was traveling alone, managed to escape the pickup by the time troopers arrived, Moss said. He was listed in critical condition following the wreck but his condition has improved.
Waterville fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and aided with removing Munster from the ravine.
The crash remains under investigation by Maine State Police.
