Prescott D. Lord

AUGUSTA – Prescott D. Lord, 84, of Willow Street, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2022 at his residence.He was born in Lubec, Maine on August 30, 1937 the son of Lawrence Edwin Lord and Moneda (English) Lord.He grew up on Deer Island, NB Canada. In his younger years he fished with his father and brother Ralph aboard the Claud & Neil running lobsters and herring until he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Mr. Lord served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War in the 10th Infantry Division, 85th Infantry Regiment, Howe Company from 1955 to 1958.Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an asphalt paver operator by Marriner Construction for many years. He enjoyed his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He loved to share stories with them about his younger years and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Lord was predeceased by his parents, two sisters: Hazel Stuart and Donna Greig; and one brother, Ralph Lord and his life partner, Doris Gail Robinson. Surviving are four daughters: Laurie Robinson and Tamara Blackler (Mark), both of Jefferson, ME; Theresa McCarthy (Jeff) and Tanya (Lord) Draganac, both of Canada; and four grandchildren, Brooks Blackler (Reilly Hale) of PA; Brock Blackler (Monica Belanger) of FL; Raya McCarthy and Christie McCarthy, both of Canada, along with many relatives and friends.There are no public visiting hours scheduled. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, ME.Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
