Larry Roland Cyr

WINTHROP – Larry Roland Cyr, 72, passed away on Jan. 6, 2022, in Augusta. He was born July 16, 1949, in Augusta, the youngest runt of seven children of Armand F. and Cecile A. (Desrosier) Cyr.Larry was predeceased by all his siblings, Jeanette Sylvester, Germaine Chabot, Wilfred Cyr, Roger Cyr, Gloria McKee, and Juliette Albert; mother and father in law, Robert Amos and Annabelle Louise Darveau Sr.; and a brother in law John R. Darveau.Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Ann (Darveau) Cyr; his two children, Josh Armand Cyr, and Krystal Star Cyr and her fiance Alexander T. Coyne-Smith; his joy, five year old granddaughter Iris Raine Bazinet-Cyr; brother-in-law, Bob A. Darveau; many cousins, nieces, and nephews including Debbie, Sheila, Angie, Danielle, Sharon, Rena, Mac, Reggie, Roni, Tommy, Linda, Carol, Tina, Tammie, Randy, Danny as well as many more.On April 10, 1982, he married Patricia Darveau.Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially trips to the beaches along the coast of Maine, and to Boothbay Harbor for boat rides. He loved his Jeep Wrangler and riding his motorcycle. At the age of 67, he achieved his dream to own a Harley Davidson. Larry and his wife Pat joined the United Bikers of Maine and both rode in the Toy Run together every September. If Larry did not participate, he loved to support from the sideline and watch all the bikers in the parade. Larry was also proud to receive his small engine repair certificate for small business.He loved to play pool, watching football and car racing, and loved all 8 cats he and Pat owns. His favorite snack was a spoonful of peanut butter and sipping a coffee coolata paired with a good old fashioned jelly doughnut. Larry enjoyed watching TV, especially National Geographic and Discovery Channel, as well as reruns of the Big Bang Theory on a nightly basis. Larry loved music of different kinds, oldies to classic rock, but he did love his rock n’ roll the most.Larry took time to wave and talk to neighbors and people on walks would stop by, especially their closest neighbors of 25 years, Rusty, Michelle and kids, along with newer neighbors David and Kristen, Dwayne and Cindy.Dad was a busy man; from working multiple jobs to tinkering on his Jeep or motorcycle, he was hands-on all year round, fixing up the house, woodworking, or mowing his lawns. Dad was always a fighter, even to the end. He survived two strokes, a small one in 2010 and a major one in 2019, three days before his 70th birthday. Dad enjoyed being outside period and he’ll be missed dearly by neighbors, friends, and most of all, his family.A period of visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 4, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, Maine where a funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will take place in the spring.
