William “Bill” Fuller III

CLINTON – William “Bill” Fuller III passed away on Jan. 22, 2022, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield surrounded by his family. He was born on May 31, 1942, in Portland to William Edward Jr and Marguerite (Gorey) Fuller. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1960 and was known to be an outstanding basketball and baseball player.

On Jan. 6, 1990, he married Eleanor Fuller who he loved and adored even after her passing in 2015.

Bill was a truck driver for many years (AKA Drummer Boy) for Peter’s Gas & Oil and Warnaco. Years later he and Eleanor created Rolling Donuts lunch wagon. This was a great success, and a tribute to not only Eleanor’s cooking, but Bill’s ability to have a conversation with anyone. He was well known for his friendly manner and a quick (sometimes) inappropriate joke.

Bill was known for many things: his love of music and drumming for local bands, driving #33 race car at Unity Raceway, a NASCAR fan (mostly Ricky Craven and Jeff Gordon), playing cribbage, inventing bicycle boats, playing the numbers with his impressive quick math skills, and enjoying model trains. Most of all he’s remembered for his top-notch Ultralight piloting technique evidenced by his ability to walk away from crashes. Two landings of note ended in his front pond and the trees behind Eric’s business.

In Bill’s free time, you would find him at the VFW playing cribbage with the boys, at camp or dining out with family. It was common for him to attend various types of events his family participated in. Including: musical concerts, cheerleading, basketball, soccer (which he would loudly declare ‘It’s boring’) or going to California for a football game.

Bill has had many titles such as – Son, Brother, Husband, Daddy, Big Guy, Grampy, and Uncle Billy.

Bill lives on through his family which consists of Anne Millington (sister), Tim (brother) and Ellen Fuller and Angela Goldsmith (sister). Also, children, Debby and Dave MacLeod of Palermo, Melody Rousseau and Tim Leet of Augusta, Tawni and Charlie Shaw of Detroit, Amber and Sean Morgan of Chico, Calif., Kim and Roland Grandmaison of Clinton, Marc and Faith Weymouth of Clinton, Eric and Amy Weymouth of Clinton, Melissa and Corey Vail of Augusta; many grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Tia, Jade, Cara, Ashton, Zachary, Allison, Jenna, Emma, Jaylin, Mackenzie, Akaydia, Hayley, Jordan, Alan, Tyler, Matthew and Jaxson; and great- grandchildren, Sebastian, Tristan, Briaunna, Lucas, Jacoby, Javier, Kylaina, Bradley and a great-great grandson Jason.

Bill was predeceased by his parents; his wife, brother Peter Fuller, sister Anita Roy; daughter Wanda; and granddaughters, Tasha Dunham and Dayna Woods.

A celebration of life will be held at the Winslow VFW on Sunday Jan. 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. (masks recommended).

The family requests in memory of Bill to take a moment and spread some kindness and love, mixed with a corny joke just to make someone smile.
