ANSON – Normand Anthony Cote, 72, of Anson, passed away on Jan. 16, 2022. Normand was born on August 31, 1949 in East Derry, N.H. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1967.
Normand lived the majority of his life in Newport. He worked for the state of Maine for over 30 years as a highway maintenance worker and as a state liquor store manager. In his youth, Normand liked camping and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He attended several rock concerts in the late 60s and 70s, including the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. Normand greatly enjoyed sharing stories about his time at Woodstock. Later in life, he was involved in stock car racing as a race fan, as a mechanic for his son’s race karts and cars, and as a journalist for Late Model Digest. Normand was proudest of his two children and his three grandchildren. He always looked forward to spending time with his family.
Normand is survived by his former wife Judy Cote, partner Virginia “Jenny” Joslyn; daughter Crystal Reblin and her husband Jason Reblin, son Matthew Cote and his wife Shana Cote; brother John Cote and his wife Ray Cote; and grandchildren Alex Reblin, Max Reblin, and Bronson Cote.
