Maurice D. Rossignol

MESA, Ariz. – Maurice D. Rossignol, 92, passed away on Jan. 19, 2022, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Waterville, Maine on Oct. 5, 1929, son of Donat and Florina (Bourassa) Rossignol. Maurice attended Oakland schools. He married Joycelyn Marie King in Fairfield on October 12, 1950. During their 44-year marriage they raised seven children in Waterville.Maurice worked as a Dairyman for many years at D. Rossignol and Sons Dairy Farm in Oakland. In 1973 he founded ROKI Waste Disposal in Waterville, selling in the early 1990s. Since that time, he owned and operated ROKI Repair Shop in Winslow, with assistance of his dedicated team, until his passing.Maurice (Maury) enjoyed life to its fullest, living each day to please his Maker. His naturally affable and outgoing nature endeared him to all who met him. He was a longtime member of the Waterville Elks Club. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling and boating with extended family and friends. He enjoyed his camp on Great Pond in Belgrade. He loved traveling, making friends throughout the U.S. with his loving significant other Sylvia Crawford. He enjoyed life with her in Mesa, Arizona for the past 18-plus years.Maurice was predeceased by his parents; loving wife Joyce; daughter Judith Schlotfeldt and husband Robert; brother Gerald Rossignol and wife Norma; sister-in-law Heliette Rossignol; brother-in-law Gerard Martin.He is survived by Sylvia Crawford of Mesa, Ariz. and her family; Maurice’s children: Barbara (H. George) Robitaille of Lisbon; Natalie (Jonathan) Palley of Worcester, Massachusetts; Edward (Janice) Rossignol of Shawmut; Patricia Rossignol of Winslow; Gene Rossignol and fiancĂ©e Blanche Nadeau of Waterville; David (Ann) Rossignol of Sanford; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Siblings, Roland Rossignol and Jeannette Colford of Oakland; Lillian Martin of Waterville. Numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank Maurice’s friends and relatives for their incredible show of support.
