The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association has unveiled its 2022 Common Ground Country Fair poster.

The artwork for the fair’s promotional materials is selected from contest submissions each year. This year’s artwork by Morgan Cameron is titled “Raven with Blackberries.”

A common sight on many farms, homesteads and wherever blackberries are found, this artwork is a fitting selection for the annual celebration of rural living, according to a news release from the association.

“Not only are wild Maine blackberries one of my favorite treats, they also hold a special place in my heart,” Cameron said. “Picking them on my grandfather’s land was something he and I shared since I was very young and are some of my fondest memories. They were his favorite and thus became my favorite.”

She added that ravens and blackberries go hand in hand for her and “felt very ‘Maine.’”

Posters are available for sale in MOFGA’s online store and at the Maine Organic Marketplace, 55 Main St. in Freeport.

“We’re excited to share this beautiful design as part of our promotional efforts for the 2022 fair, which will take place Sept. 23-25,” said April Boucher, MOFGA’s Common Ground Country Fair director. “The response to this design from community members, both near and far, has been so positive and enthusiastic. We’re thankful Morgan submitted this design to the contest as it is getting people excited for the fair and brighter days ahead,” Boucher added.

Planning is underway for the event in September, with vendor applications now being accepted for many areas of the fair. Vendors and exhibitors interested in learning how they can participate in the event can visit mofga.org/the-fair.
