Constance Mary (Paquette) Laflamme

FAIRFIELD – Constance Mary (Paquette) Laflamme, died at her home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. Connie was born on July 18, 1933, at the Seton Sisters Hospital in Waterville, the eldest daughter of Hope Helen (Holt) Paquette and Wallace William Paquette.

Her early school years were at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Fairfield. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1950 at the age of 16 and worked at the Bill Burgess Insurance Company in Fairfield. She was subsequently employed in the office of Lockwood-Dutchess Co. in Waterville. Following a few years of employment in the Keyes Fibre office, Connie set her sights on Florida where she spent two years working at a Miami blood bank. She returned to Maine in 1960.

She married Daniel Laflamme in 1962 and they would have been married for 60 years in May of 2022. Together, they ran Fairfield Printing Company for 38 years in the basement of their home.

Though quiet and reserved by nature, those who knew her found that she could be verbal and feisty whenever the occasion warranted. Like her mother before her, she loved seeing the beautiful sunsets and partaking in the yearly Christmas shopping trips to Peabody, Massachusetts with her sisters. She enjoyed the many mystery trips arranged by her sister Paula, where the destination was unknown, but many laughs were shared by the travelers. Connie also enjoyed camping with her husband, boys, and Labrador Retriever, “Topsy.”

Connie was predeceased by her mother and father; brothers Robert and Thomas Paquette, and sisters Paula Simpson, Deborah Veilleux, and Rebecca Paquette, Carol Paquette, and Patricia Paquette.

She is survived by her husband Daniel; sons Daniel, Dominic, David, and Matthew Laflamme; brothers Wallace Paquette Jr. and Donald Paquette; sisters Prudence Moody, and Susan Ross; grandchildren Catherine Laflamme, Daniel “Jacques” Laflamme, William Laflamme, and Adam Laflamme; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank MaineGeneral Hospice and especially, Linda Weeks and her husband Bob, for all their caring, support, and patience during this difficult time.

We will miss her.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 at Notre Dame du Perpetuel Secours, 116 Silver St. Waterville, ME, with Rev. William Clark, SJ, celebrant.
