AUBURN – Robert H. Dinan, 65, a resident of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1957, in Ludlow, Mass., the son of William L. Dinan, Jr. and Gloria F. (Vachon) Dinan. He attended Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. On July 4, 1997, in Greene, Maine he married Eileen G. Martin. For several years, he and his wife Eileen owned and operated Bob’s Discount Stores of Maine and later owned Off Price Stores.

Bob’s real passion since childhood were the Christmas Auctions, which he had every year. This passion was driven and kept alive by all those who supported him along the way. The joy Bob and Eileen felt to have done the auctions for so many years is beyond words. These auctions were Bob’s way of keeping the excitement alive. Bob and Eileen’s generosity was very contagious and with the help of so many amazing customers they were able to help many people who were less fortunate or in need of help to have a much better Christmas.

Bob loved anything with a motor, cars, motorcycles, and ATVs. His grandchildren were his world, and he truly enjoyed the time he spent with them. Bob will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen G. Dinan of Litchfield; two sons and their families, Bobby Dinan and partner Nicole Nelson of Minot and their children, Lincoln, Oliver, Libby, and Jillian Dinan; Lucus Dinan and partner Michelle Shaker of Hebron and their children, Aaron Griffin and Lailyanna Dinan; a daughter, Faith Nadeau and husband Randy Nadeau of Gray and their son Noah Williams; his sister, Patricia Overlock of Augusta; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and too many lifetime friends and close friends to mention.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Gloria Dinan; his brother, William Dinan; a nephew, William Holt; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family and a memorial video can be viewed at: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com.

Bob was a very private person, so with much consideration and keeping with his wishes, in lieu of a service or celebration, celebrate his life by doing a random act of kindness or donate to a charity of your choice in honor of Bob Dinan.
