STANDISH — Allison Wild hit a driving layup with less than a second left in overtime to lift Emmanuel to an 82-80 win over St. Joseph’s College in a women’s basketball game on Thursday night.

The Saints improved to 17-1 overall with the win and are 12-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The Monks  fell to 14-4, 8-2 in the GNAC.

Jamad Fiin scored 25 points for Emmanuel to go with seven rebounds. Loredana D’Agostino had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Yannie Chan tallied 11 points and four rebounds.

Cassandra Stapelfeld led St. Joseph’s with 19 points and four rebounds. Jayne Howe added 17 points and seven rebounds while Nina Howe had 11 points and four assists off the bench.

SOUTHERN MAINE 74, PLYMOUTH STATE 28: Jackie Luckhardt had 20 points and Victoria Harris added 14 points and 12 rebounds as Southern Maine (4-10, 4-2 Little East) rolled to a win over Plymouth State (1-13, 0-9) in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

The Huskies opened leads of 16-4 after one quarter and 32-17 at the half, then held Plymouth State to nine points in the third quarter and just two in the fourth.

(3) N.C. STATE 68, FLORIDA STATE 48: Jakia Brown-Turner scored 13 points and No. 3 North Carolina State (20-3, 11-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) bounced back from a loss this week to beat Florida State (10-10, 4-6).

Raina Perez added 11 points and eight assists to help N.C. State rebound from a loss at No. 20 Notre Dame on Tuesday night. Elissa Cunane had 11 points and six rebounds, and Kai Crutchfield added 10 points. The Wolfpack haven’t lost an ACC home in nearly two years.

O’Mariah Gordon led Florida State with 12 points.

(4) LOUISVILLE 93, CLEMSON 71: Hailey Van Lith scored a career-high 34 points, 16 coming in the decisive third quarter, as No. 4 Louisville (20-2, 10-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its 10th straight over Clemson (7-15, 1-10).

FLORIDA 84, (7) TENNESSEE: 59: Kiki Smith scored 25 points, Nina Rickards added 16 and Florida (16-6, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) stunned No. 7 Tennessee (19-3, 8-2), giving the Gators their fifth victory in 59 meetings between the teams.

Zippy Broughton chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Gators, who have become one of college basketball’s biggest surprises following abuse allegations that ended with former coach Cam Newbauer’s resignation in mid-July.

(17) MARYLAND 67, MICHIGAN STATE 62: Angel Reese had 25 points and nine rebounds, Diamond Miller added 14 points and nine rebounds and Maryland (16-6, 8-3 Big Ten) won at Michigan State (12-9, 6-4).

Maryland’s second-leading scorer Ashley Owusu was helped off the court late in the first quarter after injuring her ankle. She was on the bench in the second half with crutches.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. JOSEPH’S 75, EMMANUEL 73: Nicholas Curtis had six 3-pointers and finished with 23 points as the Monks (6-14, 5-7 GNAC) upended the Saints (12-6, 8-4) in Standish.

Griffin Foley chipped in 20 points and four assists for St. Joseph’s. Julian Llopiz had 10 points as a reserve.

Bryant Ciccio led Emmanuel with 18 points.

FOOTBALL

ALABAMA: Defensive coordinator Pete Golding has been arrested and charged with a DUI.

Golding was listed as an inmate in the Tuscaloosa County Jail after he was jailed on $500 bond. No further details were immediately available.

Alabama Coach Nick Saban hired Golding in 2018 as co-defensive coordinator with Tosh Lupoi. He was promoted in 2019 and helped the Crimson Tide win the national title the following season and a Southeastern Conference championship in 2021.

The Tide lost to Georgia in the national championship game.

Saban could not immediately be reached for comment.
