Ghislaine “Jackie” Noella Fecteau

CHINA – Ghislaine “Jackie” Noella Fecteau passed away peacefully at her home in China, Maine on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving husband and family.Ghislaine was born on Dec. 8, 1937 in St. Come de Beauce, Quebec, Canada to Joseph and Imelda Lessard. Her family moved to Saint Joseph where she attended school. She worked in the local convent where she found her faith, which continued to bring her joy throughout her life. She was a communicant of Saint John the Baptist Church in Winslow and she enjoyed visiting the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament. She moved to Waterville at the age of 19 with her previous husband and they had three children, Paul Veilleux, Louise (Keith Clarke), and Lise (Kenneth Theriault). Ghislaine married Lee Fecteau on July 30, 1977 at Saint John the Baptist Church in Winslow. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage, living first in Winslow for 28 years and then China. She was also blessed to experience winters at her home in Florida where she was able to make many friends. She had a great passion and talent for sewing, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. Ghislaine had a wonderful sense of humor and always loved to make people around her laugh. She is survived by siblings, Jean Thomas (Bibiane), Huguette (Laurier), Lise (Richard) and Jacqueline (Roger) and sister-in-law Caroline Bernier Fecteau and her friend Mark Hockenberry. She was predeceased by her son, Paul and her siblings Marcel, Emile, Elie ,Clement, Roland and Theresa. She is also survived by her in-laws, George Lessard, Carmen Bete, Celine Lessard and Annette Giguere. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She has five grandchildren, Jamie and Elise Theriault (Mark Pelletier), Eric and Aimee Clarke, and Laura Veilleux. She also loved her dogs, Nikki and Bella, which were very special to her. The family wants to extend their sincere gratitude for the extraordinary care and compassion to the Northern Light Hospice team as they cared for Ghislaine during her final days (Dr. R, Sue Roy, Chaplain Ron, Nichole RN, Michelle CNA, Kate CNA, Karen CNA, and Sharalyn). A mass and a celebration of life will be held this spring. Date and place to be determined.
