Middle Eastern music specialists Nathan Kolosko and Eric Laperna will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston. Known as the Seyir Duo, LaPerna and Kolosko perform music which spans from the mystic world of the Sufis to the classical music of ancient Persia.

Both Kolosko and Laperna are multi-instrumentalists, allowing the duo to explore an extensive array of timbres and traditions. Whether it is Egyptian dance music or Armenian folk songs, the duo always strives for an authentic and sensitive approach to the repertoire they perform. The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed.
