Do you favor remote school days instead of snow days?

A mixture of sleet and snow this week prompted a variety of responses at schools across Maine, as some called a traditional snow day and canceled school, while others went with a two-hour delay and still others held a remote instruction day. Some local schools have opted for remote days during weather events, so that the school year doesn’t get extended further into June, since the COVID-19 pandemic has positioned schools to do remote instruction with proper planning. Holding a remote day instead of a snow day, though, is drawing concern from some parents, who say it’s too much of a burden for some families to handle.

But what do you think about the option of holding a remote day instead of a snow day for students? Let us know in the comments below.
